PORTLAND THEME RULES: 1. Design must be wholly original and your own work. 2. Absolutely no trademarks, logos, copyrighted material or any other intellectual property belonging to any third party. 3. Artwork will not be approved if it advocates or promotes discrimination of individuals and groups based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability or status. We reserve the right to refuse any piece for any reason. 4. Due to the nature of this contest, the preferred format for entry is an Adobe Illustrator format or an eps file. The final file must be presented to our printer in vector format. The only other acceptable form of entry is a high resolution scanned black on white image. 5. All accepted applicants must sign a waiver giving the Portland State Bookstore exclusive rights to print and sell their design on apparel and/or other items. 6. All applicants must be students of Portland State University or otherwise registered as a student of Portland State University. 7. Prizes must be accepted in person with proof of identity such as a student id, driver�s license or passport. 8. Employees of the PSU Bookstore are not eligible. Previous art contest winners and finalists are not eligible for entry. 9. Finalists will be the result of an in-house jury. It is the Portland State Bookstore�s intention to provide an equal and impartial opportunity to all artists willing to exhibit regardless of artist affiliations/memberships or degree of experience. Meanwhile, it is our intention to present an exhibition of quality to the general public. 10. Please download the template below for design placement and size. |

Please read carefully before you submit any work for review. Portland State Bookstore Artwork waiver of liability and use If your design is selected as our winner, you acknowledge that you assign the Portland State Bookstore the entire right and title to your design for its exclusive use on printed materials. If your design is selected as our winner, the Portland State Bookstore may use your design in any manner with printed materials including, but not limited to: reproducing and selling items using your design, making alterations to your design by changing color or size, and using the design on the Portland State Bookstore's web page and for any promotional materials. You may use or continue to use your design for any purpose other than those listed above, such as for a portfolio or resume. If your design is selected as our winner, you may not use the design or allow others to use the design on any items as described above. If your design is selected as a finalist, you understand and agree that the artwork may be used in whole or in part, at any time, in composite, modified or distorted form, color or otherwise, and may be published through any medium, but not limited to, printed medium, video and/or the internet and in all other media now or hereafter devised. This consent authorizes both any initial and any subsequent disclosure and publication of the artwork at any time. You acknowledge that the design you are submitting is your own original work, has not been previously published, and does not contain any trademarks, logos, copyrighted material, or any other intellectual property belonging to any third party. Please note that no artwork emailed to us will be published publicly and your image will not be used unless you are selected to be in our exhibition. Images obtained are only used for determining finalists and all others will be deleted upon final selection. |
